This is to confirm that Marc Pepin played in the 1978 American Express Challengers Event in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He lost in the first round to Glen Booth of Winnipeg, Manitoba 6-1, 6-1.
I was the Tournament Chairman of the American Express Challengers Circuit in 1978 and the Halifax event was played at the Halifax Common Tennis Courts. Tennis Canada was responsible for this event and the Series.
I was then the Tournament Director of the Canadian Open in 1979 until 1984 when Players become the sponsor. My CV is attached.
I am also currently Senior Advisor to the Ontario Tennis Association President/CEO.
I send this confirmation email in support of Marc Pepin getting his duly and appropriate ATP computer points for participating in this 1978 event that would have been granted to him in 1978.
